Oooo Etty it’s a lovely song and I can see where she’s coming from. I always wonder about small children singing along to “Row row row your boat gently down the stream merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream” etc.Who knows? And she’s dead right about different people saying different things and sometimes you just feel you’re being pushed from pillar to post. I guess all you can do is go with the flow- good song by Queens of The Stone Age by the way- and enjoy your life- it’s so short! Remember we’re here “On The Fly”- Around The Sun :sun_with_face:

Hi DriverNate your video of Boygenius is “private”? i.e. can’t see it!

Looks like it was blocked due to copyright issues as it was an upload of a livestream.

Yes my Mum took my older sister to Hammersmith Odeon in 1966 to see them and said you couldn’t hear a thing for the screaming! I remember she had a badge saying “I love George” (my sister that is). I remember I also could never understand the lyrics to Ticket to Ride my sister had the record- why would anyone be upset with someone having a Ticket to Ryde? It’s a very nice place in the Isle of Wight :laughing:

Thin Lizzy on The Midnight Special circa 1977. I’m old enough to remember watching when it originally aired. I was 14 at the time.

Yes my sister ( who was a “thin lizzy” and still is annoyingly!) really liked Phil Lynott and co. I think she may have Whisky in the Jar O. I would have been 17 and was more into Bowie at that time and T Rex and slightly less heavy stuff.

I have woken up laughing this morning with this in my head. We deal in “stuff” where I work in the local charity shop and a) it’s hard not to get tempted to buy other people’s unwanted “stuff” for starters and b) it’s hilarious (and sometimes hard not to laugh) at what other people come in and buy (!) particularly from the homewares section :laughing:

And then the other one is this one. Trash by Suede- not helped by the fact that the charity shop manager looks a bit like Brett Anderson (although he’s had his floppy hair cut back a bit recently)

I saw on R.E.M. HQ “Peter records with Glitterfox”
I’m not familiar with this band. Found some live videos I like. Here’s one. Enjoy.
“Drive”

A song I love from my 1991 playlist, RHCP “Under The Bridge” ( Live acoustic version)

And this one from the Baby Animals
“Working For The Enemy”

I heard this afternoon Paul Woseen, bass player & backing vocalist of The Screaming Jets passed away on Friday. {{R.I.P.}}
“Friend of Mine” (Melbourne 2019)

I recently had a sleepless night. 2 in a row actually. The only way I kept sane was wandering round the place with my cans on listening to new music generated by the AI thigngy that tracks your likes and recommends new stuff. I found Griffen House and was immediately captivated. I believe he’s released 3 or 4 albums but he’s brand new to me and I’m completely hooked. Seems he’s touring the US but sadly no European dates. Here’s one from his live set. I don’t know if he ever toured Europe but if he comes to the U.K. I’ll bust my bones to see him. https://youtu.be/lki4ifyYuLo?si=8E8DWqEDbbt9hABr

I heard this morning on the radio talk about a new complex called “The Sphere” or the MSG Sphere, a spherical music and entertainment arena in Las Vegas, opened on 29th September. U2 has taken up residency until December 16th.

“Where the Streets Have No Name” (The Sphere, Las Vegas. 30/9/23)
