I’m 18 miles from the US/Canadian border between WA state and BC. A colleague from Canada was telling me they’re having their own right-wing political issues.
I’m on my way home from seeing Shannon and the Clams, and the support band was Canadian, and they were great. We love you Canada!
ETA: I’m a bit drunk. But the point stands.
A bit of random lunacy to lighten the mood. An Italian singer recorded this in 1972. I want to hear all of it.
Found it. The video is insane. Not violent or anything, just mindboggling in its randomness.
It’s called Prisencolinensinainciusol. I’m not sure if the parts where he seems to be speaking Italian are Italian or if that’s just fake American too. Enjoy, endure or ignore. Weird ass shit.
Hang on. There are several versions of this video, ranging from baffling verging on boring to flat out insane. I watched a couple and think this is the nutty one. Watch at your own discretion.
ETA- OK. This is the original video. There is a more recent expanded one which is like some anniversary tribute thing which is the mondo blizzaro thing I watched. I’m not looking for it. My tired, challenged brain can’t cope seeing it again. It’s just too crazy for me.
So it’s after midnight and I’m exhausted. And I was just wanting a sugar hit because the extended version of fucked up song made me feel queasy. I went to the hospital Monday for a check up, and they had a farmers market of fresh produce so I stopped on the way out and saw fruit I couldn’t Identify. I like fruit, so I asked the seller what these things were. The first item looked like a psychedelic ear of corn, wrapped in its multicoloured leaves. She told me a name I forgot and today it looked like the leaves were starting to wilt. So I followed her instructions and cut the thing in half. It had red flesh and was dotted all over with tiny black seeds embedded in it. The woman assured me it was sweet, so I ate it. It wasn’t offensive to eat but it wasn’t particularly flavourful or sweet… I was expecting something like a papaya, but not exactly. Anyway can someone identify this thing?
It’s a dragon fruit. I think it’s some kind of cactus.
Wouldn’t but it again. Expensive and taste is underwhelming. Comes from the tropics. Live and learn.
There is a vid with Subtitles Etty. Enjoy, endure or ignore.
I think he wants to be an Americano
I’ve seen dragon fruit at Asian grocery stores, I’ve never tried it though. This time of year mangos have come into season here. I think they come from up north. I like them in the summer slighty chilled.
Merry Christmas murmurs people. Just finished lunch which kind of went all day. I got a bit drunk on aperol spritz & negroni.
As Patti Smith once said, be grateful for every day. Here’s hoping for a prosperous & more peaceful new year.
Season’s greetings Murmursians!
Happy New Year, Murmurs! May nothing but happiness come through your door.
A couple of weeks back, some friends and I went to see The B-52’s in their hometown of Athens, Georgia at a brand new venue, Akins Ford Arena (Classic Arena) on the edge of the downtown area by the river. I have seen the band a few times, but this was the best performance of theirs that I have seen to date, because they brought so much amazing energy to this hometown performance.
