As mentioned on @remhq.bsky.social on Bluesky, Peter Buck has been doing shows with Steve Wynn & Kevn Kinney at the Rialto Club (Hotel Indigo) in Athens. Mike Mills joined Peter & Kevn, last night I believe for a sing along, ‘Fall On Me’.

I’ve had two chat bots (I think that’s what they were) phone me recently stating they were virtual assistants to help me compare private insurance cover. I said “hang on, are you a real person?” & they said “I am your virtual assistant, blah blah blah” I hung up.

I don’t answer the phone if it’s from an unknown number. That’s just me.

It’s my fault, I’m too lazy to add the people I want to speak to on my contact list so their name shows up when my phone rings. Technology has added some good stuff to our lives, but also a lot of junk to my phone.

I try to add them. Inevitably, when I add some business’ they call me back from another number.

man I don’t add anybody to my contacts and I’m constantly scrolling back through lists of numbers trying to remember which number was which business when I need to call them back.

I was asked by someone once to add my number to their contacts list- they then showed me their phone with 600 contacts (!). Crikey- I can just about cope with the few that I have as contacts and if there’s no picture to go with it, I spend ages trying to work out who the contact is! Modern life eh? Eins Zwei Drei…

We have too much information!, and not enough time to process it all, so it is handed over to the robots. I’m not sure if that makes any sense. Robots do a lot of work for us. Who knows if the robots one day will rise against it all!
Which reminds me, I was there!

I once made the mistake of adding my FB friends to my Contacts list. I remember having a phone index at home. I see my Contacts list as being the same.

Hey! I was going to post this (but didn’t)…! I could post Algorithms by Kasabian again but that would be robotic re-re-repetition… 
I mean I can’t honestly say I think it will become a case of “Ask not what your robot can do for you, but what you can do for your robot” in my lifetime but I do worry about future generations…I do find futuristic films such as 2001 A Space Odyssey, I, Robot, Ex Machina, Minority Report thought provoking and at times quite disturbing…
