Does Peter Buck have a main gig post-R.E.M.? Even when R.E.M. was an ongoing concern he always had several irons in the fire.

From Barrett Martin. Intrigued by the bit about band members returning to solo projects over the summer, though I suspect in Buck’s case that’s more likely to be one (or more) of his many band projects, as opposed to the long-awaited-and-quite-unlikely 4th solo album.

Drink the Sea have announced a fairly extensive US and European tour for later this year. No Scottish date unfortunately, so I won’t catch them this time.

New album! Drink The Sea III

“This new album has 12 original songs that we recorded in studios around the world on our last tour, and it comes out October 2nd worldwide. However, we will be signing the CDs in late August when the band is at my studio rehearsing, and we’ll mail them out to you directly at that time, so you’ll get it before the official release day. It’s a physical artifact of our work, signed by us, and we’re very proud of this new one. The first single will be released on July 10th!”
