You seem so sad...why not smile

This garden universe vibrates complete.
Some we get a sound so sweet.
Vibrations reach on up to become light,
And then thru gamma, out of sight.
Between the eyes and ears there lay,
The sounds of colour and the light of a sigh.
And to hear the sun, what a thing to believe.
But it’s all around if we could but perceive.
To know ultra-violet, infra-red and X-rays,
Beauty to find in so many ways.
Two notes of the chord, that’s our fluoroscope.
But to reach the chord is our lifes hope.
And to name the chord is important to some.
So they give a word, and the word is OM.

The Moody Blues

Now I’ve heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor falls, the major lifts
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

  • Leonard Cohen

By chanting the names of the lord you’ll be free
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
Chanting the names of the lord and you’ll be free
The lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see

George Harrison

You only got one finger left
And it’s pointing at the door
And you’re taking for granted
What the Lord’s laid on the floor
So I’m picking up the pieces
And I’m putting them up for sale
Throw your meal ticket out the window
Put your skeletons in jail

  • Beck

Did she make you cry, make you break down,
Shatter your illusions of love
And is it over now, do you know how
To pick up the pieces and go home

(Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac)

It’s too late to turn back now
And it don’t matter anyhow
You were right
I’m to blame
Can’t go on the same old way
Can’t keep up the same old game
Why can’t you just get it through your head
It’s over it’s over now

  • Boz Scaggs

And it’s too late, baby, now it’s too late
Though we really did try to make it (We can’t make it)
Something inside has died
And I can’t hide and I just can’t fake it
Oh, no, no

Goodbye, goodbye
To all the fake people in my life
I never wanted you around me
So be on your way now
You better think twice
Before you let people in your life
Because when you put down
No one is around you
You got a case of the fake people

  • TLC (Dallas L. Austin)

Hey woman, you got the blues
‘Cause you ain’t got no one else to use
There’s an open road that leads nowhere
So just make some miles between here and there
There’s a hole in my head where the rain comes in
You took my body and played to win
Ha, ha, woman, it’s a cryin’ shame
But you ain’t got nobody else to blame
Evil woman

ELO

Well it was Neal Cassady that started me to traveling
All the stories that were told, I believed them every one
And it’s a winding road I’m on you understand
And no time to worry about tomorrow when you’re followin’ the sun

  • The Doobie Brothers

I picture you In the Sun
Wondering what went wrong
And falling down on your knees
Asking for sympathy

Are they gonna find us lying face down in the sand
So what the hell, have we already been forever damned?
Anywhere you go, I’ll follow you down
Anyplace, but those I know by heart
Anywhere you go, I’ll follow you down
I’ll follow you down, but not that far

Gin Blossoms

Hey, Kathleen! Great to see you posting. We missed you.

So I’ll move on down the line
Thinking I’ll make it better this time
Moving far on down the track
And you won’t see me looking back

(Sarah Jarosz)

You won’t see me down the disco mama
Bright lights really hurt my eyes
I’d rather stay and dance with you
To the funky music playing on your stereo, oh

  • Regurgitator

You can’t start a fire
You can’t start a fire without a spark
This gun’s for hire
even if we’re just dancing in the dark

Bruce Springsteen

So long, my honey, so long
Too bad you had to drift away
Cause I could use some company
Right here on this road, on this road I am on today

Janis Joplin

I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history

Then there followed days of kings, empires, and revolution
Blood just looks the same when you open the veins
But sometimes it was faith, power, or reason as the cornerstone
But the furrowed brow has never left his face

How you gonna show the king you love
Look through the bloodstained glass
Commoner, you simpleton, you arse
Never asked, only bowed to the great lords
Subordinate of the great sword
While you quarrel on immoral excursions
All the kings men murder
And the Empire cries “Oh for freedom! Lead on”

  • The Herd

There’s a crocodile cross-eyed
There’s a turning of the tide
We’re no longer gonna fight for
Some old crook and all his crimes
There’s a sewing up of rags
Into revolution flags
Got to stand up to be counted
Be an anthem for your times
It’s just work
It’s just work, it’s not easy
And we could all be blown apart
And Heaven is a fire escape
You try to cling to in the dark
It’s just work, believe me
Still, my beating heart
We’ll all be free to fall in love
With who we want and say
