I was aware of Uncle Tupelo way back when but never heard their music until I happened upon a promo copy of Anodyne at a radio station I was working for at the time. Though I liked most of it well enough, to be honest the album didn’t particularly grab me as a whole. That would eventually change as I found my way back to it years later thanks to Trace, seeing Wilco in concert, summerteeth, and joining the Raleigh, NC based Guitartown email list in the late 90s.
