Fellow boygenius fans recommended her to me last year but it wasn’t until today that l learned most of her Big Picture album (which this song comes from) was recorded in Durham, NC and that Brad and Phil Cook (DeYarmond Edison, Megafaun, etc.) had a hand in it. That aside, the backstory for “Lights Light Up” is pretty fascinating on its own.
