I saw the Eyelids in Atlanta and Athens last weekend. They are a Portland based band that Peter has produced and worked with some. If you aren’t familiar with them give them a listen.
Shows were lots of fun.
Apparently, they also sometimes count Jay Gonzalez of Drive-By Truckers among their members, though I’m not sure if there is still the case. I know he and his band the Guilty Pleasures opened this East Coast round of shows. They were just in Raleigh but unfortunately I was unable to attend.
Yes Jay’s band opened in ATL and ATH. They were excellent too. Jay also played on a couple of songs with them.
Collective Soul, if they can come close enough… They’ve been covering The One I Love quite often lately.
You must’ve been stood quite close to me!
I thought it was a great gig. The new stuff sounded good. Looking forward to the next album.
Looks like it.
Enjoyed the set more than I thought I would. The new stuff did sound very promising.
Just remembered I snagged a set list last night…
Also, Linda Pitmon was out talking to people afterwards. At 43, I’m still too shy to approach people and ask for a photo or whatever. (It took a lot out of me to ask the security guy to pass me a set list!)
I kinda wanted to hang around and see if anyone else came out, but I was beginning to look like a bit of a weirdo, so I didn’t. Normally I’d have sat and had a beer, but I was driving so that wasn’t an option.
Did HC McEntire open? If so, what did you think? She is one of my current favorites along with her band Mount Moriah who have been inactive the past few years. Hopefully, they’re not done for good though.
No. Vic Bondi is opening on the NW leg of the tour.
