While I was out for coffee yesterday I did a tour of the local charity shops and picked these up: I used to have Chet Baker Sings but made the mistake of taking it into the Oxfam shop with me on my work day, forgetting it, and someone on the till must have sold it so now I

have a replacement (99p)

This year’s Southern Music Issue and accompanying vinyl album from Oxford American. The inclusion of an alternate take of “Why Not Smile?” on their annual sampler is initially what led me to them way back in 1998. They were always on CD until several years ago when they did playlists on Spotify. Their readership let them know in uncertain terms they were unhappy with that decision. They switched to vinyl last year.

That’s awesome. How’s the Daniel Johnston track?

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to listen yet.

I’ve listened to Drive By Truckers posted on this site for a few years now, and more recently on bluesky. I had to get these two albums.
I got a surprise bonus disc as well!
