Love her. If you haven’t done so already be sure to check out some of her videos on the GemsOnVHS YouTube channel. Same for the Western AF channel.

Margo Price featuring Sharon Van Etten performing “Radio” from Margo’s latest, Strays last night on The Late Late Show with James Corden. I just read where the show has been canceled after being on the air for close to 30 years and will be replaced by a reboot of a Comedy Central series from Stephen Colbert. In all honesty, I’ve never watched the version with James Corden (or much late night TV at all in recent years) aside from a few YouTube segments of Carpool Karaoke.

I don’t know what happened, the video is not available. They must have taken it down for some reason.

It’s still there. At least it is for me.

I would sit by the radio ready to tape it so I could listen to it anytime I wanted. 32 years later, it’s one of a handful of R.E.M. singles, that if it were to come on the radio, I would likely reach for the dial to switch stations. That’s not because I hate or even dislike the song, it’s due to burnout. Not just from radio but also MTV and VH1 from back in the day. This starts around the time of the singles released from Document and goes up to the singles released from Automatic for the People. “Orange Crush” being one of few exceptions. Then again, I can’t remember the last time I heard that on the radio. For the most part, I’ve come to avoid Classic Rock radio like the plague.

I prefer the original, electric version of this but it’s sure cool to hear this acoustic version, mainly because I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen or heard it before. I never watched Most Wanted that much, which would explain it. Nice find, nevertheless.

Dream Theater playing “Space-Dye Vest” in 2014. For background, this was written by keyboardist Kevin Moore for their album Awake in 1994. Moore quit the band right after the album came out. DT never played the song in concert – when asked about it they’d say “it’s Kevin’s song, we don’t want to play it without him” – but finally brought it out for Awake’s 20th anniversary.
