I’ll be making a (short) stop in Athens for the first time this week. Gonna try and see the Steeple, Wuxtry, and grab lunch at Weaver D’s, but I really want to check out the Murmur cover location. Anyone have a general idea of where it’s located?

Near the intersections of Chattooga ave and Hiawassee ave in Athens GA, there is an opening to train tracks. If you turn left and walk half of a block, you should be able to see the field to the left of the tracks. The trestle on the back cover is easier to locate, it’s at 220-270 Poplar st, also in Athens.

There was an effort to save it but from what I understand it was deteriorating and becoming a safety hazard.

I was fortunately able to see it a couple of times on visits to Athens prior to its demise. I took this shot in 2008.
