Thanks for the link. Rolling Stone is mostly garbage but they still can get a good interview sometimes.

I went to see U2 a few years ago, and they were so good. I was sitting there thinking, “Man, I could be up there doing that. That would be so much fun.” I said, “They’ll be doing it tomorrow night, and the night after that, and the week after that, and the week after that, and the month after that.” I said, “You know what? It’s actually OK.”

There’s a gallery of Magazine covers with R.E.M on remhq, and I was shocked to not see even one Rolling Stone cover of the lads. It may suck now but back in the 70’s RS was essential. I lived in NYC then. Not only did it have all the inside about the latest scene, the journos then were amazing. Hunter S Thompson. Ben Fong Torres. And editor Jann Wenner. Love him or not, he created a cultural icon.
