At the onset of the year it was the Patterson, Florry, and SG Goodman I was most excited about. Up until the last minute I had the McMurtry as my absolute favorite but in all honesty it was the Big Thief I kept coming back to repeatedly.

The Sierra Hull one was my favorite, but the order otherwise is just as I think of them:

Sierra Hull - A Tip Toe High Wire
Molly Tuttle - So Long Little Miss Sunshine
Ruston Kelly - Pale, Through the Window
Dar Williams - Hummingbird Highway
Allison Krauss & Union Station - Arcadia
Jade Bird - Who Wants to Talk About Love?
I’m With Her - Wild and Clear and Blue
Deb Talan - I Thought I Saw You

Let’s see, that’s 8? Straight Line was a Lie was good, yeah. And maybe Time Out 3 by the Accidentals.

Not counting Chris Thile’s Bach Sonata and Partitas Vol. 2 which was also fantastic, but probably goes in a different category.

For me it’s definitely been S.G. Goodman. I’ve also really enjoyed her first two albums, which were new to me too. I’ll have to check McMurtry out.
