Jake used to live in Georgia but moved to Durham, NC a few years back. He just got done touring with Magnetic Fields. Starting in August he will be opening for the Decemberists. This is his Tiny Desk from back in January.
These were great, i go back to the Wilco and Billy Corgan ones often.
I just discovered this artist who is currently opening some dates for Neko Case in the U.S. She has ties to Big Thief and Waxahatchee as well. I’m only now starting to dig it but seems more than a few of my current favorite artists are females from Australia that aren’t named Courtney Barnett. By the way, that’s not a slight towards her, who I love. I’m just saying I’ve discovered several others such as Indigo, Mylee Grace, and my current favorite, Julia Jacklin.
Got their first two albums on vinyl. Great stuff.
(Thinking about friends and colleagues in Khartoum and the rest of Sudan. Terrible and sad what’s happening right now)
Gaelynn Lee, with Alan Sparhawk from Low. Not sure if I’ve already posted this one, but posting again cos this is the voice you can hear on the new Stipe song.
This is incredibly moving the sound of the violin with the strumming guitar plus the voice is exquisite. Wonderful.
Thank you @cliffonthemoon somehow this reaches parts of the brain other music doesn’t reach and opens it up.
This is an amazing performance. When I saw this five years ago, I went out and bought her EP " Songs We Sing Along The Way". Beautiful.
