Whicita lineman for me. Its breathtakingly beautiful. Plus it made me check out jimmy webb's other stuff. Some wonderful moments in roughcut when they're reherasing those songs, btw.

I'd love to hear a full version of Galveston, if indeed there is one.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

I've only heard the minute or so mike and michael play in roughcut. I haven't heard of them doing it on tour in 95, but i know they did by the time i get to phoenix. Isn't there a setlist archive somewhere? Every show was recorded, so if they did play it at least its in a vault somewhere.

The remtimeline site has virtually every setlist:
http://www.remtimeline.com
Every show has been recorded? I wasn't aware of that as I thought the Timeline lists some that aren't available.

Every show on the monster tour i meant, for naihf. According to that site wichita lineman got 7 outings during the tour, including a performance back to back with by the time i get to phoenix in, suitably enough, phoenix (the only time it was played). Sadly there's no mention of galveston.

I'm thinking maybe they broke Galveston out (or least a snippet of it) on one of their more recent tours like the one for Around the Sun or In Time.

I've got some of these from the physical CD singles on which they appeared. Where can one obtain the others? Is there a reliable online source? I don't think I've ever heard Arms of Love, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Dark Globe, Ghostrider, Fun Time, Winged Mammal Theme, or Academy Fight Song.
R.E.M. Shows Attended:
The Pyramid, Memphis, TN, 11.7.95
Red Rocks Ampitheater, Morrison, CO, 9.13.03
UNO Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, LA, 9.23.03
City Park, New Orleans, LA, 10.26.08

Check out the discography section of this site. Most of those appeared on officially released singles while "Academy Fight Song" was a fanclub Holiday single b-side. With the exception of "Academy Fight Song", you should be able to order most of the rest of them through Amazon.
