Damn! Decisions decisions...
I made it a point that by hook or crook, I would be at this ceremony a ways back when the news leaked.
I am originally from the Atlanta area, and only leave about three hours away now, so I really should get off my ass and go.
I will have just paid off my annual vacation by the time this thing comes around, so hopefully I can slide in with an extra ticket that's left lying around.
I reckon that's what credit cards are for. Thank God for legal money launderers...

Damn right its a no brainer....Daysleeper_UP...you have to go for those of us who simply stay too far away...if you don't...and if I were to ever meet you..I would be left with no choice but to hit you VERY, VERY HARD!
The world is full of strange behaviour,Every man has to be his own saviour.I know I can make it on my own if I try,But I'm searching for a great heart to stand me by. There's a highway of stars across the heavens,The wispering song of the wind in the grass,There's the rolling thunder across the savanna,A hope and a dream at the edge of the sky.I'm searching for the spirit of the great heart, under African sky.

Lili, you have an extremely valid point.
I don't know what I was thinking initially. As is said in American Football, "Upon further reveiw of the play...," I realized that I was smoking crack when I wrote that crazy drivel. ;)
I do feel like I have an obligation to go, since I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity when many like-minded individuals such as yourself do not. I feel the same about people living where they can catch Big Day Out, Pinkpop, Dance Valley, and the like.
As I said, by hook or crook, I told myself I wanted to go. From a practical standpoint, you have to understand my bitching a bit about 75-100 dollars a ticket. I'm not on a student's income, but I'm not a millionaire either. That's a lot of bread. However, I then started to look at this way.
Insert Credit Card commercial here:
Ticket to Georgia Music Hall Of Fame: 100 dollars
Gas to event: 50 dollars
Parking: 5-20 dollars
Knowing you've just been fortunate enough to witness your heroes together getting the honored recognition they deserve:
Priceless
There are some things money can't buy. For everyhting else, there's high interest legal loan sharks.
Please don't hurt me. I bruise easily. ;)

Good on ya. When you think of the rest of us garnshing our wages for an obscenely expensive plane ticket. And in reality, since I will be returning to school, for the first time in ages come september, I really will be living like a student. I must be nuts.
But then I think- it's not just an REM gig. It's sort of being there to say congrats and thanks for the music and the influence they've all played in georgian culture, in rock history, and in our own lives
And most of all, it's about the party at Brett's house..... LOL.
