How quickly do you think the tickets will all be spoken for? I am trying to convince to quasi R.E.M. fans to go but one is poor and takes a little more convincing. Perhaps I should play on her love for bald men and Micheal Stipe in general and send her a photo a day via email until she cracks from the pressure.
Does anyone think they may play a gig somewhere that weekend independently? It would be nice to see them play more than 2 songs....just a thought/wish....

I'm struggling with it.
$75-$100 is a good bit of money to hear R.E.M. play only a couple of songs at the ceremony, although there are other musicians/producers there that I'd love to see in person (I'd like to see Gregg Allman perform again...I saw The Allman Brothers Band in 1995 and loved the show.). There's also an outside chance that I may not be in Atlanta in September. I got a decision to make here, that's for sure.

Oh, what I wouldn't give to go see this!
I only wish that the tickets would be available longer, I'm sure they're going to sell quickly. With school and random half days, I won't know my plans until July or August. :(

To me this is a no brainer. Yeah, I know what you mean by only two songs, but I bet they play more. Plus, you are already in GA. You ought to go. If I was in your shoes, I'd be there for sure.

If i lived in Georgia there'd be no question. I would go. As it stands, I looked up the costs of attending, and even if I booked now, the whole weekend ordeal would likely cost me a couple thousand dollars, coming from Vancouver. Since I'll be attending courses in the fall, I just can't see it being feasible.
I trust that plenty of murmur folk will be in attendance, and will relay all of the juicey details.

Does anyone know what the difference is from the $75 tickets to the $100 tickets? I'm assuming the closer you are you pay $100 and the ones in the back are $75. For those that have bought tickets already, could you tell me what the difference is please? I'm thinking of getting some soon and want to to know what I'm looking at before I call. Thanks for any help!!!

I couldn't offer specifics, but frankly, considering the significance of the event, I'd recommend going with the $100 ticket. I'm pretty sure this will guarentee you a much better seat. I know when you're tight for cash you want to be sure, but in this case, I'm pretty sure it will be worth the extra $25.

hmmm, just looked at the flights and confirmed what I thought. I couldn't get back in time to get to work! No indiscriminate days off me me anymore, so that's that!!:(
I'm going to forget about it now. No point dwelling on it.
