If you are aware of this phenomenon, share your experience with the rest of us.  That way I'm not the only one who shares how this number affects my life.

The number 23 is the most reoccurring random double digit number in the universe.

To begin with.

We have 46 Chromosomes, and we pass half of them when we procreate, 23 to be exact.

The number 69, is 3x23.

These are simple examples.  But once you are aware of the number 23 you will notice how frequently it shows up.

That was a difficult but interesting read. I do believe we live alongside dimensions we are not aware of, however, I believe using complex mathematics to try and discover them is going round the circle unecessarily, or trying to find and follow the right path.  We are already in the right place.

Nah, I can't see it as that, more of an interesting phenomenon that happens.  It's weird for me, since I like to watch for it.  When you watch T.V. you will hear it, like "23 seconds until impact, captain", or patients room number will be 23, or 232, something weird like that.  

I use dan23 because my first internet account with AOL, I entered Daniel as my name, and it wouldn't work of course, so they gave me some options, and one was dandan23.  Which was my original murmurs screen name, until I forgot the log in password.  Generally I use that log in, but I found out that one of my friends co-workers also uses dandan23 as screen names.

My favorite radio station in high school was 106.7, 10+6+7=23.  It's a stretch I know, but my old phone number then also added up to 23.

Have fun with it and see how it works out.  I had a friend who said you could do the same thing with the number 9, and the number 5, both prime numbers like 23, the problem with those numbers is they also form a 23, 2 + 3 = 5, and 9 consists of 2 3's multiplied together.

I know this shows how weird I am, but even my wife who used to hate me talking about it, now notices how frequently it shows up.

People like to find these spooky mystical connections with numbers, but I have to be skeptical.  I think you can find any number, everywhere you look, if you really want to.  It reminds me of the bible code; does anyone remember that?  Eventually someone showed that  "coded messages" could be found just as easily in Moby Dick as in the bible.  I think this is the same phenomenon.

But yet you don't procreate with 69.. :p

A lot of these relationships have to do with the numbers 2 and 3, rather than the number 23.

Like I said at the beginning, it's a stretch, since the number 2 and 3 are used to create the number 23, your example still makes 23.  

I just like to see where I find it.  When ever I stay up late I always seem to look at the clock when it's 11:37, 23 min to midnight.  Then I always seem to look when it's 12:11, 12+11=23 or vise verse. My favorite time is when it's 12:34.

Any who, I said it was a stretch, it's not anything I obsess about, I just notice it.  In fact this is the most I've talked about it in a few years.

Go do your normal stuff and see if you find it, come back and post about it.

If you include addition (as you have), all integers greater than 1 are combinations of twos and threes. I guess I see no magic in that.

It's haunting me now.  In the last episode of LOST they alluded to the number 23 as being 'special'.

I believe that it's down to taking notice of things, as soona s you focus, you find - it works with anything and everything.

I would agree with that statement, but it's more than that.  You'll see, post more when you see it.  The other day, I noticed my post was the 23rd post on that thread...

Thanks for the link of the interesting article. Funny, 23 was a part of my ex-boyfriend's email address. When I heard his email address and asked him what the number meant, he said it was the number on Michael Jordan's jersey. I didn't know that before he said that because I wasn't interested in basketball game overall. The funny thing is 32 was a part of my email address at the time. the opposite of 23. Bottom line is our relationship didn't work out. Yeah, 23 was a chaos to me at the time. you may think my statement is too simple and I know my expression is too simple but I think I'm not too simple person. The simple thing, however, is meanigful at times, I think

Anyway, I think numerology makes sense and Carl Jung's syncronicity always impresses me but I think the obsession with only one number is not healthy. I think the universe and our mind soul are not that simple.

Agreed.

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with the number 23.  I'd say I'm more entertained by the number and how often it shows up.

I understand. I think people have a specific number that more often shows up than other numbers. So that's meaningful.
Basic numerology is meaningful, too, of course

I am, Every major occurence in my life and it appears.  I was born on the 23rd.  My father was born the 23rd. Another person in my life was born on the 23rd.  My sisters most important day was the 23rd.  She was married on the day.  I migrated and the seat row on the plane was 23.  Both times i have travelled.  to and fro from here.  This year i will be 23 on the 23rd.  When i look at the watch with out thinking i see 23.  I'm not into sports, so i had no idea michael jordan wore 23 or david bekham, until i was forced to see if anyone else was seeing what i was.  And i checked google.  And many other occurrences i can't even begin to tell.

Bianc thanks for sharing.  It blows my mind how many people are aware of the number 23.  The most common times I look at the clock generally have 23 in them.  My most favorite is 12:34, and 11:37 pm <-- that one is the best because it's 23 min to midnight, or if you wrote it in military time 23:37.

Don't forget the whole 23 chromosome's we pass when we procreate, or that 69 the yen and the yang is 23 times 3.  Any who, I may have already said those points...
