Incredible. Didn't realize you had a schnauzer, either. :)

Why do you think his appreciation thread is so popular?

Corp's got LOTS of schnauzer.
Some kind of singing. They sound like all kinds of people, right? And then it says another child is born in India every time you call this number, right? Does that make any sense to you?
And the guy that spoke--I don't know who he is. But that--it doesn't sound like no answering machine, right?

Okay, ew. Not in the little-kid thread. Ew. Keep it in one of our many outlets for that, please. :(

Schnauzers are the shit. They come in 3 sizes, don't shed, are pretty damn smart, and have the sweetest temperaments. I had one from 1st grade to college. Good choice, dad.:)

Our neighbors had schnauzers.  Obnoxious, barky critters, they were.  That could have been because of the weird neighbors, though.

Yeah, prolly the neighbors. People don't realize, it seems, that when dogs bother them in most any way, it's because of the shite owners.

My mom taught ours not to bark at passers-by. Only people actually coming up to the house. Taught her not to lick, too. Smart doggies.

What a gorgeous child sitting there with the dog...what was her name? ;)

I'd just like to announce that the Bug now rides a big-girl two-wheeler, no training wheels.  It happened Sunday, and she set the amateur big-girl two-wheeler record by learning in 10 minutes.  No photos available.

She rocks.

Oh yeah!  Gracie is totally awesome!  You want me to get Mr Corner to loan you his shotgun?  You're going to need it sooner than you think, Fancy Pants.

Very nice, Corpus.

I just glanced over this thread over the past couple of days because I assumed it was some silly joke thread or something, but, now that I've seen it, congrats on Gracie starting school.

This past weekend, I attended the birthday party for my eldest niece, who turned 4.  This in itself is impossible to believe for me.   It's amazing how children just never stay the same age and how they change so quickly.

For children, though, the time moves so much more slowly than it seems for us.   I remember, years ago, when I was six years old and starting first grade, some man at my church who was a friend of the family smiled at me and said, "In twelve short years, you'll be graduating from high school!".   I was mortified.   Twelve short years?????   That was twice as long as I had been alive.

The man obviously took for granted that time moved much faster at his age than it did for my six-year old age.   Life is like a roll of toilet paper; the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.   Everything lasts forever when you're a child, though, and the man didn't realize how his "twelve short years" statement freaked me out...that seems like a horribly long time to be going to school when you ponder it at the age of six.   Anyway, whenever you see a first-grader, be sure to never say something dumb like "In twelve short years..."
