I'm lurking. I haven't thought of anything funny to say yet. Probably becuase I have been reading the Federal Labor Standards Act for the last hour- that'll sober anyone up.
Wait for it...
(And thanks for the masculine spelling, Lucy) :)

I do so try to spell names properly. :D But if the "y" in Corpy is masculine, then what does that make the "y" in Lucy??? Last I checked, I was fairly feminine.

This is where it all gets complicated. "Lucy" is a very feminine name. One of my favorites. My daughter Gracie was almost "Lucy." That brings us back to Gracie. The "ie" is cute for the five-year-old, but I am burly (remember?)
I guess it depends upon the name. Lucy- great female name just the way it is.
(Come to think of it- I don't really care either way- it was just something to give Heather a hard time about. Shhhh).
Wait for it...

I've become a little addicted to this thread, waiting anxiously to hear about Heather's adventures.
It might just be because work was boring today.

Jeez, that sounds pretty nerve wracking... Enough to send anyone into a panic attack, actually, so I hope you're alright. Quite a sensitive chap that guy is...
I sure hope they're not going to let it slide, though.
Anyway, your days off (Monday and Tuesday, right?) couldn't have come at a better time, so get some rest, and I hope the shaking has already gone. Just try not to cram all the action into your first week, will you? There'll be more to come, hopefully, and then what?:) Take care and enjoy your break.

Actually, by the time the guy got there with the other cab, I had stopped shaking. It took him that fucking long. The full-body coating of sweat I had, however, was still there. That's what 80% humidity will do for ya.
After giving it some thought and reading some posts here, I am fairly certain that the brakes were fine, and that the problem was the accelerator being stuck.
Frankly, I'm glad. I was much more comfortable before the idea of blame occurred to me. Not to say that guy isn't an ass.

This is a great thread, keep the stories coming. You need a reality show! We could make it and broadcast on Murmurs.

So I'm going through a list of possible books to order for the library, and I found one that I think Heather needs:
Streetwise: how taxi drivers establish their customers' trustworthiness by Diego Gambetta and Heather Hamill
I'm gonna buy it.

Interlibrary loan.
Or she could buy it herself. It's only $19.95.

Not too wild, please, and not while driving a freakish car, that should never have been on the road in the first place.
So, I hope it's a calmer shift for you tonight, with only the odd smelly passenger to worry about. And that's no sweat, really!:p

Given the number of drunks she's been driving, I suspect most of her passengers are odd and smelly. ;)
We're waiting for today's installment, Heather.

Interstate interlibrary loan? Doubt it. Perhaps you'll be kind enough to post some key points to remember, Biz.
Sorry Corpie, you missed your chance to see my ass shake on the internet. And so did Joanne.
Tonight's title (yeah, it's still 'tonight' for me): Party-Party!
First run I took, shortly after starting, was a mom and son and a trunkful of laundry to a laundromat. Their washer had broken.
Second run I took was over 4 hours later. Wanna know why? Do ya?
Haha, I'm such a dirty tease...maybe later. :D

What? You think I actually read the books I order. Ha! We interlibrary loan from other states all the time. Most places would be totally screwed if they couldn't ILL from another state.
