Well the Photo Gallery is now a moderated forum.

Moderators will look at your post and if it qualifies it will be approved.

Posting guidelines for new photos are:
ORIGINAL PHOTOS ONLY or NEW PRESS PHOTOS

Posting the same pictures that everyone can find on the internet already for years won't be allowed anymore. If you want to see them dig into the older threads here.

Also there will be only one gallery and not one for all the single band members anymore.

Where are the old posts with pics now? How do I find them? Why did you kick off the members sections ? I know have to search for hours and hours to find something..

Great move, now it will be a real resource for new REM photos.

It still here but you have to use the *search* button to find what you are looking for. We just dissolved each band member's forum and merged everything in one photo forum and is now moderated.

Because R.E.M. are a band not just Michael or any of your favourite band members. This way we will see more of the band's pictures than individual band member's photos. It will also feature new pictures of them like what Jason have said and not the see the same pictures over and over again.

No, the band forum will have a major shake up, too. They just implemented this to photo gallery first.

I know and it was bad that for you guys who uses the other band members' forums. This way at least the Peter and Bill posters will at least balance out the droll postings that's happening there right now.

So the reason this is now moderated is simply for the fact that some people let their hormones slip into words.  And they gave someone a compliment about their appearance.  The problem with this being moderated is that a new post doesn't show up right away which makes it hard for sharing concert photos and with that you need to make various posts.

I know it's a shame that it had to come to this, but I can understand the moderators actions. When I first came to Murmrus a year and half ago. I was looking up Michael pictures. Yeah I might not post here anymore, but I drool over the man, I cna't help it. Well, it took me five months to go through all the old Stipe photos posts, and most of them were the sdame photos posted over and over again. It's very frustrating for a new member to sift through. So I'm not sure it's exactly because one band member got more attention, it's just that much of the posting was superfluous and bogged down the system too much. I'm assuming the forum is moderated now so posts that shouldn't be here, such as pictures of the bands homes or private lifes, never see the light of day, which is fine by me. I jsut put up my  first post and ntoiced it didn't come up, so am in this post because I wanted to find out why.
