Just wondering if anyone hated a song and then it grew on them and now they love it. I have to admit I hated Wake up Bomb for awhile and now it is one of my favourites.
Conversely, I loved Stand years ago and now I can't stand to hear it.

On first listen, I wasn't too fond of "The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite." It took many, many plays of In Time and even more listens of AFTP for me to enjoy it. On the other side of that, I'm not really as warm to "All the Right Friends" as I used to be. I'm still not a huge fan of "Low" or "E-Bow."
"oh fuck if you're not gonna talk just say so" -Luis "it made me crack up...like when emily said plant" -Rory
"we in england are a full 30 seconds ahead of you irish" -Martin to Eimear"im proud to peel spuds!" -Eimear "england doesnt beat the amish!" -Emily

'All the Right Friends' really grew on me actually. On the first few listens I wasn't very keen but now I think it's one of the (many) great underrated R.E.M. songs...

Electrolite. I just couldn't listen to it first. Later on, it became a favourite.

Thanks to the new DVD-As, there are 2 songs that, I didn't listen to very often, but now love, and can go back to the Standard Album Versions, and enjoy. :)
King Of Comedy -I just LOVE the 5.1 Mix! It really improves the song, a lot IMO
Around The Sun -This one I liked after the first listen, but was too into most of the other songs, that I didn't listen to it much. But after hearing the DVD-A, I just fell in love with it!

Lotus and Sidewinder.
Although, I think the only reason I wasn't fond of Sidewinder is because it jumps right in your face on Automatic. I still don't think it fits, but I love it.

can i name a non-REM song? i can't really name any REM songs i could hate then love. i either like it after listening a few times, or i feel indifferent and bored with it. the untitled track from "green" comes close, but i DON'T exactly love it now.
"beta band rap" by the beta band. it's wack. extremely annoying the first time around. i guess it's endearing, and that elvis impersonation is too funny.

Good times, I'm okay. Bad times, I'm okay.

For me, it was most of Fables and Hi-Fi. For some reason it took me forever to get into both of those albums (I mean, years, actually!), but I now love them both more every time I listen to them.

I'd say pretty much all of Up, which sat collecting dust for about a year until I rediscovered it recently. It's now on heavy rotation.
As for individual songs? I have a lot more respect for Imitation of Life and Animal than when I first heard them.
