It's the poison that it measures
Brings illuminating vision
It's the knowing with a wink
That we expect in Southern women
It's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself
It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea.

(I'm trying to acquire this album, though cdon.com does not ship outside of Europe. If anybody knows where can I order this, please send me a message. iTunes does not carry albums by Di Derre either).

I just found this awesome band called All Mankind on the FIFA 12 soundtrack and I've been madly in love with their new song called Can You Hear Me? It's totally worth keeping a browser window open to listen to it through the video and I can't wait to buy it next week! If you want to hear it you can watch the video here I promise you, if you're as in love with REM as I am you'll love this song!!

Since I have been depressed, my favorite song has been "Let Me In."
The whole story about Mike playing Kurt Cobain's guitar after the suicide... it grips my heart.
Weird how I've never met anyone else who's affected the same way I am by this song.
It walks in, lays its muddy boots on the floor, and takes over my heart.
I hurt, and it nods-- silently understanding.

"I wound up figuring out something that I had never been able to figure out before, which was: who am I after R.E.M.? I now know, and I’m OK with it. I’m just not a whole lot without them. I’ve got a nice voice and good cheekbones, but without those guys writing songs with me, I don’t know that anyone would ever hear what I have to say.” . . ---Michael Stipe

Let me in is, to me also, the most touching song R.E.M. have ever done (+ Find the river and Fall on me). It really means a lot to me, it gives me the chills each time I hear it because it helped me go through tons of things over the years.
I love it. The lyrics are fantastic and the arrangements quite amazing imo. Mike really outdid himself on this one

You have now.
Hope to get my hand on the accoustic version they played during the last tour (didn't see any shows), one day. Haven't heard a version with good sound quality yet (usually they're filmed with cell phones)
