If you're frightened of dying and you're holding on,
you'll see devils tearing your life away.
But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels.
Freeing you from the earth.

yep. and "pop" made it up in my u2 list (which isn´t good anyway) to a high position. maybe because all that "jesus-religion-peace-love and no war on earth"-pathetic cheese by bono is not so much included on that album.

and pop rocks ten times more than atyclb.

I have to check out those two bands myself.
again, thanks jean-yves. yes, epitonic also lists spokane under "similar artists" of drunk, and states that it is a side project of the drunk (hehe) singer/ songwriter rick alverson. i'm currently downloading another song of drunk, but as soon as this one is finished i'll go and download the spokane songs epitonic offers. besides, 'the proud graduates' has one of the most beautiful album covers i have ever seen.

Mexico by Leona Naess

When there's wrong there's always right
That's what's kept us on this road tonight
Sand as far as the eye can see
Ain't it funny how the world is just like
  u and me
Come with me to Mexico
We can laugh about the love we used to know
Yes, I'm ridden with a fear
But please answer when I call u dear

My friends think we're all wrong
Another muse for another tragic song
But who ever wrote a plan
Was a fool when it comes to a woman
  and a man

Come with me....
I can drive and you can take it slow
Yes, I'm ridden with a fear
Please answer when I call u dear
I should hate you but I don't
You should love me but you won't
Isolation is my plan
Woman's gonna make a man

Come with me to Mexico
Stop listening to that damn radio
Yes I'm driven by a fear
But please answer when I call you dear
"A good album should be either like a homemade doll with tinsel for hair, seashells for ears and filled with candy or like a good woman's purse with a swiss army knife and a snake bite kit in it." - Tom Waits

'so we meet again and i offer my hand all dry and ...'

(please please please help me ! I need this CD!! desperately!! thanks... :) )
Hjørdis

Give me a wink
And I'll give you what I think you're after
With just one kiss I will whisk you away
To where angels often tread
We'll paint this planet red
We'll stumble back to our hotel bed
And make love to each other
'Til we're half dead

The song is "Cut Here". You can find it as a single or in The Cure's "Greatest Hits", which I'd very much recommend, especially if you find the Ltd. Edition with the "Acoustic Hits" extra CD. I personally despise Greatest Hits albums, but this is a must!

CUT HERE

"SO WE MEET AGAIN!" AND I OFFER MY HAND
ALL DRY AND ENGLISH SLOW
AND YOU LOOK AT ME AND I UNDERSTAND
YEAH IT'S A LOOK I USED TO KNOW
"THREE LONG YEARS... AND YOUR FAVOURITE MAN...
IS THAT ANY WAY TO SAY HELLO?"
AND YOU HOLD ME...
LIKE YOU'LL NEVER LET ME GO

"OH C'MON AND HAVE A DRINK WITH ME
SIT DOWN AND TALK AWHILE... "
"OH I WISH I COULD... AND I WILL!
BUT NOW I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME... "
AND OVER MY SHOULDER AS I WALK AWAY
I SEE YOU GIVE THAT LOOK GOODBYE...
I STILL SEE THAT LOOK IN YOUR EYE...

SO DIZZY MR BUSY - TOO MUCH RUSH TO TALK TO BILLY
ALL THE SILLY FRILLY THINGS HAVE TO FIRST GET DONE
IN A MINUTE - SOMETIME SOON - MAYBE NEXT TIME - MAKE IT JUNE
UNTIL LATER... DOESN'T ALWAYS COME

IT'S SO HARD TO THINK "IT ENDS SOMETIME
AND THIS COULD BE THE LAST
I SHOULD REALLY HEAR YOU SING AGAIN
AND I SHOULD REALLY WATCH YOU DANCE"
BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO THINK
"I'LL NEVER GET ANOTHER CHANCE TO HOLD YOU...
TO HOLD YOU... "

BUT CHILLY MR DILLY - TOO MUCH RUSH TO TALK TO BILLY
ALL THE TIZZY FIZZY IDIOT THINGS MUST GET DONE
IN A SECOND - JUST HANG ON - ALL IN GOOD TIME - WON'T BE LONG
UNTIL LATER...

I SHOULD'VE STOPPED TO THINK - I SHOULD'VE MADE THE TIME
I COULD'VE HAD THAT DRINK - I COULD'VE TALKED AWHILE
I WOULD'VE DONE IT RIGHT - I WOULD'VE MOVED US ON
BUT I DIDN''T - NOW IT''S ALL TOO LATE IT'S OVER... OVER...
AND YOU'RE GONE...

I MISS YOU I MISS YOU I MISS YOU I MISS YOU
I MISS YOU I MISS YOU SO MUCH

BUT HOW MANY TIMES CAN I WALK AWAY
AND WISH "IF ONLY... "
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I TALK THIS WAY
AND WISH "IF ONLY... "
KEEP ON MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE
KEEP ON ACHING THE SAME HEARTBREAK

I WISH "IF ONLY... "
BUT "IF ONLY... "
IS A WISH TOO LATE...
Leö.

And our talk is useless
It only makes us seem clever
While nothing changes, nothing changes, nothing changes, nothing changes...
Not ever.
