What would you title an R.E.M. anthology/greatest hits/box set spanning their entire career?
My thoughts:
Can't Get There From Here
A Thumbnail Sketch, A Jeweler's Stone
For a b-sides comp, I would call it:
"Catbutt aka The Wrong End of the Cat: R.E.M. B-Sides and Rarities"
-- renee

If you're frightened of dying and you're holding on,
you'll see devils tearing your life away.
But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels.
Freeing you from the earth.

had it been released before Reveal I think a great title would have been
R.E.M. - From Chronic Town to the Great Beyond
..and it would include only my favourites. :)

Silvana's Best:
"I feel a little zombie."
"You're starting to look as Frankenstein!"
"You're my painter...little Michelangelo!"
"That's pure folly!!!"
"Not a yawn, not a sneeze. It was an expression of wonder."
"This thing to quoting each other quotes is a mess..."
"Even zombies need to sleep!"
"With calm....slowcoaches go everywhere...."
"You know, Stephen, your heterosexuality makes you lose a lot..."
"I have a crush on that song!"
"Okay...big squirrel!"

How about "Rapid Eye Movement" or "Cans of Piss, the history of R.E.M", the title would finally get used for something.
Peter would appreciate "Love and Squalor"

The best title for an r.e.m. best of album or collection is, DRUM ROLL!

It's got to be something understated and simple and short and catchy. Perhaps a snippet of lyrics from a good song. Here are some ideas.
These Words [from Strange Currencies]
River (or something to do with water... a lot of Stipe's lyrics have to do with water, flow, etc.)
Bad Poetry [from At My Most Beautiful]
Pop Skill [from Imitation of Life]
But hopefully the title would be something that nobody would never have come up with. =)
