Thank you for the postcard, Lucy. The address got damaged in the post, but it still arrived, the house number and postcode were still readable.

MM had a good look at it!

Have just booked for my first concert in absolutely ages! It's NEXT MAY! Tried to get a disabled seat from the venue (on Saturday), but as I'm not in a wheelchair they said no, but I could have a General Admission (i.e. standing) ticket, but as I then said if I could stand through a concert I would't be asking about disables access!

Only tickets they had left, was the reply.

So when I got to the library this afternoon I tried one of the websites selling the tickets, and got a choice of seats in a balcony. Hopefully the people are less likely to stand up there, so I'll see something other then bottoms!

Oh before I forget it's to see Morten Harket, the voice of a-ha, as the advert says!

It'll be my first trip up to the old dome!

I'm drenched, sitting here in the library, the label said my new jacket was shower-proof, but it obviously isn't rain-proof. Got drenched just waiting for the bus, and there was thunder & lightning!

Have just booked to go and see the comedian Milton Jones next week, in Croydon. Was going to boox in person, but decided against that when I saw what the weather was like!

Mike & Michael were on the radio last night, chatting about the final album! DJ asked the question I would like to ask, Why isn't Find The River on the album? I think it sounded like they'd been asked that a lot! The answer of it's available else where wasn't very convincing!

Another goal less draw for Palace, on Tuesday night, but we're still 4th and it was another clean sheet!

Next home game isn't until 26th November, though some away games before then. Away to Cardiff on Saturday.

Andrea, thanks for the card for Albert, it arrived right on time for his birthday.  He was intrigued by the large envelope and the contents appeared to live up to his expectations.

We are going to an all you can eat buffet for his birthday lunch; not my favorite place but there are many kid friendly foods and he will get to pick what he likes--or have a bit of each.  On his request, we have made a cake shaped like a tank which I think will be brought out for afternoon tea.

(Have just remembered a murmurs-based suggestion that he be called 'Hank the Tank' after my ultrasound revealed him to be off the edge of the growth chart!)

Glad the card arrived on time. It's often hard to workout how long they'll take.

First time I've heard of a tank cake!

Dad still hasn't written to the builders to complain about their work, and how they failed to fulfill any of the three conditions asked of them (1. replace wall with equivalent, 2. take care of the plants in the flower bed, & 3. clear up afterwards!) So tomorrow I'm going to write to them, and he can deal with any consequencies, because he knows what I'm like when I write a letter of complaint!

I know bonfire night has passed but I can sense more fireworks on the horizon! :o

Palace's unbeaten run came to a crashing end on Saturday :(  Losing 2-0 at Cardiff :(

Still it was our longest ever non-conceding run EVER! That's EVER! and we began in 1905!

Great night last night, he was really funny.

R.E.M. even got a mention during the show!

While showing various transparencies, on an overhead projector, he showed a drawing of a singer, guitarist and drummer   with a stick man in the corner.

"This is the rock band R.E.M.",  he said and then pointing to the stick man, "that's me in the corner."

Then pointing at himself, "that's me in the spotlight."

On the way home, I was at the interchange, after getting of a bus, and was waiting for another bus, when a tram came in and a couple got off to wait for a bus, and the man was trying to explain one of the jokes to the woman. Don't know if he managed it as they didn't get on the same bus as me

The joke went as follows:-

Two lads are walking in a forest.

"Wolfgang, Mozart," shouts one.

"What?" replies Mozart.

They are then eaten by a gang of wolves.

I think our typewriter must have magical powers.

I wrote the letter of complaint, for next-doors builders on Tuesday, Wednesday morning they turned up and Mum tackled them face to face! They cleaned out the drain, and have assured us that a high trellis will be put on top of the mini wall!

As I had the typewriter out I offered to update mum's medication list for her, she then had to admit that she's now on insulin injections, and that they are sorting out her medication. I don't think she'd had told me otherwise!

Not a lot going on, no football (for Palace) over the weekend as it was an International weekend

I suppose, at least England won
