Maybe the two Xmas singles he appeared on, and the #9 Dream recording, should count as well as it was "appearances" with all other three guys. (Well, perhaps one of the Xmas singles didn''t include JMS, come to think of it.) He also played with Mike and Peter on two occasions at the 40 Watt, in 2009 and 2011.

No tickling the lead singer when he is reaching for a note that he can no longer hit, OK?" JMS, post-audience visit during The One I Love in Bergen, 2008

"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

Superman, Near Wild Heaven and Rockville. Mike and Peter played a bit more. Michael jumped on stage for Joseph Arthur's "I Missed the Zoo" (completely unplanned actually, surprising Joseph too).

For what it's worth, Bill, Peter, and Mike (with Scott) backed Gregg Allman on "Midnight Rider" at that Georgia World Congress date but Michael didn't sing on that song.

Yeah, but I really was just looking for Berry-Buck-Mills-Stipe performances.

Thanks for that list!
Which one was that wedding reception, when Michael wore that "Gang of four"-shirt?
Didn't they do "I've got you babe" at Peter's?
"Little sister is REMinding you!"

That was at the bowling alley in Athens for DeWitt Burton's wedding.

I've yet to see a complete songlist surface from Buck's wedding. I saw a photo of Stipe and Buck sitting in with Joseph Arthur posted on the R.E.M. Timeline page on Facebook labeled "I Got You Babe" but I have no idea if that song was actually performed.

It was not performed. Michael just sang the chorus of Joseph's "I Miss the Zoo."
I was standing next to him when the song started and right before he jumped up I heard him say, "OK, fuck it I can't resist."
