The SXSW 2013 online schedule is showing two panels with Mike Mills' participation.

The first is called "Raise Your Fists: Music Meets Activism", moderated by Karen Scott of FitzGibbon Media and taking place Friday, March 15th at the Austin Convention Center.

"R.E.M., in my opinion, are one of the most socially and politically active bands ever.  Yes they are an internationally acclaimed band who have supported causes all over the world, but they also support local causes in their hometown of Athens, GA.", said Ms. Scott in an interview.

The second panel is called "Talkin' Baseball: Peanuts, Crackerjacks & Guitars", moderated by Judy Tint and taking place Saturday, March 16th in the same Austin Convention Center.

A description of the panel says that it'll explore the "unique and deeply intertwined relationship between the world of song and "America's Pastime."

I wish they'd pay a visit to NOLA. I met Peter when he stopped in for an in-store with the Baseball Project. I'd like to get Mike and Michael to sign my vinyl copy of CIN.

The Pyramid, Memphis, TN, 11.7.95
Red Rocks Ampitheater, Morrison, CO, 9.13.03
UNO Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, LA, 9.23.03

I hope you get to do that.  Sometimes Michael is present at Baseball Project or one of Peter's other bands shows at least in the New York area.
I managed to get my Green tour book signed by all 3 guys and my best friend was able to get one of her fanclub calendars signed by all of them. I remember when she said how she really wanted Michael to sign it and she finally got his signature when we met him outside a show in 2004.  She said Michael took it from her and flipped it over looking at it carefully before he signed his name.

My dad was in Austin earlier this week. He told me he's positive he spotted Mike at some burger place.

Awesome! Ken is always great, and cool to see a live rendition of that song fleshed out a bit with full instrumentation.
(Not sure I'd agree on the "half of REM" thing though...  :-))

I agree it's a very good song, I should order Stringfellow's new album soon, I heard he also played with Hitchcock during this SXSW.

"Half" of R.E.M. took the stage at Alejandro's Escovedo's traditional SXSW ending party at the Continental Club last. Peter Buck was joined by Bill Rieflin, Scott  McCaughey and Mike Mills for an amazing "Rockville." Mills also jumped on stage to sing during a fantastic Peter Buck set -- probably the best set I had seen. Good times.

OK, that counts as more than half even in my formal book, M.
Saw the setlist on Facebbok, looked good. Hope some YT clips show up!
