Rob: “Good Advices” is a strange little song that really reminds me of The Smiths’ “Half A Person”—although melodically both songs are different, they are similar in that they are both catchy, jangly, and have no real chorus. Instead, they kind of go in a circular style of verse, bridge, verse, bridge, verse. I guess “Good Advices” has a crescendo moment going for it, but still. It’s really the type of song R.E.M. writes beautifully and serves as a reminder why I love this band. Cynics would call it filler and non-fans would probably label it as boring, but for the R.E.M. devoted “Good Advices” (and why is it “advices” anyway? As an English prof I have to take issue with this needless pluralism! What next? Clothings?) anyway, this is yearning at its finest. This song was an easy one to sing and play--it came together rather quickly. Thanks for listening.

An under rated song, I like your version too.

Well done!

Thanks guys. I don't think Chorus and The Ring was a big hit, despite me still loving our version and its harmonies. This one is a little more bare bones, but I like it. Appreciated.

one of the most beautiful r.e.m. songs ever, and this version nearly recreates the same feeling of the original.
