I've been trying to get an R.E.M. tribute band going for some time.  I was the lead guitarist in Reckoning for a short time, which operates out of Chicago.  However, in the one year that I was in the band, we managed to play only two show.  The other band members were more concerned with their other bands at the time, and I eventually moved on out out of Illinois.  I've been looking for a new band, using Craigslist to find the other guys.  The lead vocalist was always going to be the biggest problem though.  I could play bass and sing lead vocals, but it feels wrong.  While that may work for practice sessions, we can't ask people to come out and pay to see an R.E.M. tribute band without a Stipe.

So, are there Detroit Murmurs members out there?  Do you sing?  The time to rise has been engaged!
