I'm getting the "the item you tried to view is restricted in your territory" line from 'beatport'. anyone knows of another way of listening to the "blue" remix??

Just listening to the sample of AAAA feels like I was just kicked in the balls. Not even trying to be funny. Then again, I hated that R.E.M.ix that happened after Reveal as well. R.E.M. does not write house music. Stop trying to make it fit in with that stuff.

You must have listened to a whole different album than I did. AAAA is a wallop of a pop song and Blue is truly mesmerizing. Now if we could only get the Stipe remixes of Discoverer and Blue from the River Phoenix doc....

I listened to a little bit of Blue. You don't take a quiet rock ballad like that and turn it into modern disco. The dance music doesn't work with Patti's voice at all. I've never been a huge fan of remixes.
The Alligator one is much better than Blue. I love the songs the way they originally are.
Michael says Alligator and Blue are two of the sexiest songs on Collapse. Anyone agree?

In my opinion, Alligator is a very good song; blue, on the other hand, suffers the absence of melody.
Somehow, discoverer has the same problem, but in this case the messy lyrics are even worse, because they
pretend to follow a melody, even if they really don't (I'm thinking of the "now we can dream saffron turmeric and brass" line).
At least, blue never pretends to be something it is not; it's just a mash up of an instrumental track with some verses (which,
by the way, are very good).
Discoverer and Everyday is yours to win are the worst songs off CIN, followed by blue. Those songs aside,
I think that the album contains many gems

I think the first two tracks are the best, personally. Whilst I like Uberlin, I'm not too fond of the line "I will make it through the night". Reminds me of that Mariah Carey song, "I will make it through the rain"
I just think, like Mine Smells Like Honey, Alligator is too loud & I think Jackniffe and the band really missed the point in the studio with these. Michael's vocals are either too buried or too nasally for my liking.
That said, it's still a very enjoyable album to listen to & probably the easiest REM album to run to!

These remixes are, in a word, atrocious.

808 State's remix of King Of Comedy was great.
