The interview appears in the Spring issue of Whitewall magazine, and it's signed by Slava Mogutin:

"I recently photographed and interviewed Stipe for Whitewall at his sunny Tribeca loft, filled with great books and art and equipped with a tiny mirrored room straight out of Alice in Wonderland. We talked about his life after R.E.M., his creative process and influences, finding inspiration in old cameras and cheap plastic chairs, and his current transition from pop stardom to a new “position” as an emerging artist. He had just finished a six-week cleanse, and his piercing blue eyes were even brighter than usual".

"But now you're here and it's different, how the light shines in your eyes, and every second a century, it's then that I realized, the world as we know it, a high speed train, we'll pick it up and start again"

Great pictures.

I'd love to have this magazine in paper form but it's $30 an issue.

It doesn't allow you to save or even copy the url to the pictures or I'd post a few.  I can fumble around with print screens later.

"and his piercing blue eyes were even brighter than usual"  That had to be a lovely sight to see.

Nice article , the 'I understand ' comment near the end reminds me of 'Blue' and the more I hear/read him speak about his new ventures as an artist the more sense the lyrics on Collapse become. I thought he was 52 though.

He is 52.  The interview probably took place in November or December of 2011.  Because this magazine only has a few issues a year it probably takes them a few months to gather everything for each issue.

It's a feature that Firefox has, not sure about other browsers.  In Firefox, you go to the "Tools" section of the menu and select "Page Info".  A window with several tabs will come up and you select the one that says "Media".  It will show you and allow you to save any media files from that page, as long as they are not part an embedded feature that is run by Flash or some shit.

Thanks for the info.

The blue hoodie Michael's wearing is Thom Yorke's hoodie according to a fan on Tumblr. It kind of does look tight on Michael. This wouldn't be the first time they have swapped clothes or deliberately bought the same thing.
