does the cover art look familiar? it's a collage in exactly the same style as the one on accelerate! tribute or rip-off? i go for the former :)

Chuck used to be in Green On Red who used to tour with R.E.M. back in the day so I guess it could be an homage but who knows? R.E.M. may have used a similar style for the cover of Accelerate but it's not as though they were the first to do so. In that sense it could be totally unrelated to R.E.M.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

The Minus 5
I don't know who I am / Let the war agains music begin Vol. 2

For some reason Minus 5 CDs are difficult to find and pricey. I probably acquired this because of the nice picture of Buck and McCaughey in the cover, but also because of track #2 "Myrna Loy". I haven't heard the other songs, I'm sure they're also fine.

I had never seen I Don't Know Who I Am before until I noticed it for sale at the merch stand at a Minus Five show several years ago. Of course, I snatched it right up.

I have fallen prey to the budget section at Best Buy once again. As long as they're willing to mark 'em down to $5, I'm more than willing to snatch 'em up. I picked up the Skynyrd mainly because of the two unreleased live tracks. Until I heard "Railroad Song" at a local restaurant around a year ago I wasn't even aware that they'd even played that song live, much less that it was available on the reissue of Nuthin' Fancy. I haven't heard most of Wide Awake In America in forever and a day; unfortunately I've been unsuccessful at ripping it to iTunes.

thats prolly because half of them are long out of print, specially this one, which i think only 1000 or 2000 copies were pressed of. it's basically a collection of demos and leftovers from other albums. but a real great one

and that picture was taken in brussels in the "rue de boucher" (a famous street full of restaurants) during the 99 R.E.M. tour.
