In an interview that he did with Intercourse Magazine, published in January, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT revealed that his band has started work on a new album, and that he has written a total of five songs inspired by R.E.M.

The publication, with headquarters in New York City, seems to be paper-based only and of limited distribution, so I couldn't have access to the magazine but the interview is referenced in various places across the Internet, such as wikipedia.

"But now you're here and it's different, how the light shines in your eyes, and every second a century, it's then that I realized, the world as we know it, a high speed train, we'll pick it up and start again"

Interesting. I know Michael's a fan. Told me in an interview circa Accelerate how much he loved to sing along to their songs. And Andrew told me in an interview awhile back that he met Michael and Thom Yorke at the same time, and was blown away that they were both fans of his band's music.

That will be something to look forward too. Plus I always thought MGMT's Congratulations song had borrowed then slowed down the riff from Gardening at Night.
I read that there is political unrest and a civil war in Madagascar but I've seen the film 6 times and there isn't.
