Eleven new Lambchop songs since the band's previous Oh (Ohio) (2008) and the very first body of work to appear after Chesnutt's death in December 2009.
There´s an interview today in the Belgian newspaper De Wereld Morgen where frontman Kurt Wagner discusses Chesnutt. Here`s a rough translation (via google translate) of Wagner´s words:
Quote
"He had a decisive role in my musical development. Vic had a lot of friends who were all very affected by his departure. It was not totally unexpected, because we have often discussed suicide. He would not listen to arguments like the pain for those left behind. It was not his first attempt. Yet I hoped it would never really happen. Vic, however, had touched many people, I saw that at his funeral. There were very famous people like Michael Stipe, also, Mark Linkous (of Sparklehorse) was there".
(Linkous committed suicide a few months later in March, 2010).
"Do you continue painting?", journalist Koen De Meester asked.
"Painting was the only thing in which I have succeeded. I just wanted to have nothing to do with music."
