The original Lineup of Grant Lee Buffalo is due for a comeback this year. The band was R.E.M.'s supporting band during several concerts of the Monster-Tour after Michael Stipe described them as his favourite band. Also GLB's drummer was replacing Bill Berry when he collapsed in Switzerland after his aneurysm.

Wow! Great band! Hope they tour, or I'm gonna have to head over to London for that.

Grant Lee Buffalo had a tour scheduled in February 2011.  Unfortunately Grant suffered an aechilles heel injury which caused them to cancel the tour. I had tickets for their show a year ago this month at the Bowery Ballroom in NY. But it was canceled.  That was the start of the painful year that 2011 was.

I hope they do try and do a tour again.  It would be awesome to see them live again.  When I saw them open for R.E.M. I had no idea who they were.  I remember them being very loud for only 3 guys.  Yet when R.E.M. came on stage they were not quite as loud.  I became a fan when Jubilee came out.
I met Grant once at one of his shows, such a nice guy.

Cool indeed. Must completely have missed the news about the intended tour last year.
Joey Peters of GLB was of course one the very first guest drummers to ever play with R.E.M. (I guess Jim Courier was the first!)...

They did a 'tour' of sorts last year, though as noted, dates were cancelled.

Dublin 17th May '11
London 18th May '11
Brussels also in May '11

They played in Amsterdam in August and Seattle in September. There are youtube clips of these shows, and others (they also played in Denmark and Norway).

Hope they reschedule their cancelled NYC show from a year ago. One of the first times I saw them live was at Crisler Arena in 1995 opening for R.E.M.. Great show. Grant and Joey crawled in front of me during R.E.M.'s encore with Patti Smith to catch Dancing Barefoot and Let Me In. Memorable moment.
