I found the Cindy Bullens at a new record store in Raleigh that specializes in vinyl only. The Jackson Browne came out of the used CD rack at another store and the Kathleen Edwards CD nearly completes my collection of her works. Yes, I was quite enamored of her recent show the other evening at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro. I just wished I had picked up her "Wapusk" single while I was there. I had no idea that song wasn't on her new record.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

Vinyl + Download
It's better to be loved by the righteous few than to be liked by a lukewarm many.

Last December I noticed that there had been a price drop interesting enough to purchase this vinyl. Ten dollars had been slashed off, after hovering in the 30$ mark, Accelerate now costs around 20$ which is what I paid. I actually received this in mid-January, two LPs are included plus the CD. Funny thing to mention the CD that comes inside is marked as "promotional - not for sale".
"But now you're here and it's different, how the light shines in your eyes, and every second a century, it's then that I realized, the world as we know it, a high speed train, we'll pick it up and start again"
