I think it's the most political, and the most emotionally charged song in the album. Among all Collapse into Now songs, this one stands out for several reasons: 1) it was the only physical single on CD, 2) it made it into Part Lies, Part Heart... and 3) it was chosen for a TV commercial.
"But now you're here and it's different, how the light shines in your eyes, and every second a century, it's then that I realized, the world as we know it, a high speed train, we'll pick it up and start again"

It's been six months since the news of the break-up and in general, it's given me time to reflect on what R.E.M. has meant to me and my life. Although it's hard to accept there will be no more new albums, tours, etc, it's wonderful that they left us with a final album, not just full of good songs, but what I would consider to be 'classic' songs - in the vein of their early 90s material. 'Oh My Heart' has grown to be one of my favourites, along with 'Uberlin' and 'It Happened Today' amongst others. I can still see myself playing it in 10 years time and losing myself in it's fragility and beauty, the same way I still do with songs like 'Find The River' nearly 20 years on.
Oh - and I love the art work for the single as well.

"Conventional wisdom would dictate that when the singer is trying to hit the high note and not quite getting there, the last thing you should do is tickle him! No tickling the lead singer when he is reaching for a note that he can no longer hit, OK?" JMS, post-audience visit during The One I Love in Bergen, 2008
