He came straight from the airport and jumped on stage. Sang harmonies and played a tiny tambourine. Hugged everyone in the band in mid-song and was having a blast. It is so much fun to see such great friends having a wonderful time. Peter really has put together such a great Festival.

Thanks, M! Good to hear about Peter and Mike sharing a stage again.

Nothing at all in terms of pics or video on youtube, facebook etc? Is everyone to busy with their margueritas down there?

Great, thanks! Make sure you document stuff well when you're down there. Pretty jealous!

Why is Bertis still hanging around?
Would he stay on the payroll to handle royalties and offers etc?

maybe he hangs around since he has been friends with this band for about 30 years
and i assume a band as R.E.M. still indeed needs a manager to handle all the legal stuff for reissues, use of songs etc...

Because at the end of the day, they're all still "family", regardless of who is working where on what.
I remember several years ago Peter was quoted as saying he still considers Bill Berry a part of the band, even though he wasn't working with them. I have a feeling that's how they all feel about each other.

first nignt of minus 5 was just amazing, a lot of the in rock and gun album, john got to do time bomb high school and mary lou again. Then kevin kinney got to do a few songs, when they finally found him that is. Fernando viciconte also got to do two songs that were such a blast, can't wait for him to do a larger set on saturday.
and perfect ending with a rousing version of aw shit man, and good guys don't wear white and strychnine for the encore.
and they had dave depper on the keyboard for most of the minus 5 songs, which really brings in a fuller sounds.
of to la paz for the day and some more good food and music!
