I'm starting an Aimee Mann collection, this is the first I get

Plus, an extraordinary Uncle Tupelo live album produced by Peter Buck

And this is something I'm getting in the next few days, it has that very old R.E.M. song

The version of All The Right Friends on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack is identical to the one on In Time, not a single difference. Just in case you didn't know, or if you're not a completist. :)

If you are, I recommend getting the Placebo album Meds, brilliant vocal performance from Michael on the song Broken Promise and it's also a pretty good album ;)

As far as I know, this isn't a live album.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

I bought Emphasyma from itunes. I'v looked for it on there b4 but only by looking down the list of 'All' R.E.M's songs on itunes but it wasn't on the list. To find it you have to look at the Daysleeper single and select it from that. Itunes need to sort that out. I've been trying to find Surfing the ganges on itunes but it doesn't seem to be there.

My mistake, I thought it was a live album, must have been those March 1992 dates plus the fact that it's largely accoustic, which gave me that impression. Coalminers and Moonshiner are my favorite tracks.

This on the other hand is marvelous.
Where a small knife tears out those sloppy seams,
and the silence knows what your silence means,
and your metaphors (as mixed as you can make them)
are linked, like days, together.

I just hope you get to see them live sometime soon. As good as that EP is, the live show is where it's at.
