There was a question on the general knowlege section of Mastermind tonight about R.E.M. Which American band which had hit's with LMR,SHP and announced they'd split in in 2011? Former England cricket cpt. M.Vaughn guessed Bon jovi. Yes. There are people who don't know R.E.M did LMR!!!! and he wasn't even young!

If I understand this thread right, so here are two "references" from the radio:
1. a quiz: Name 3 out of 6 songs, which are shortly played, one of them was R.E.M.. The calling partner named some songs, ended with the R.E.M. one to add: "the band that unfortunately 'disbanded'" and the radiohost didn't react in any way! :-( [Greetings to the caller!]
2. same quiz: (all songs had s.th. to do with "great") the calling partner named 5 (!) but the R.E.M. one (Great beyond) :-< [Greetings to the radio station to involve R.E.M. ... sometimes]
