How fun!
Thank you!
"I wound up figuring out something that I had never been able to figure out before, which was: who am I after R.E.M.? I now know, and I’m OK with it. I’m just not a whole lot without them. I’ve got a nice voice and good cheekbones, but without those guys writing songs with me, I don’t know that anyone would ever hear what I have to say.”   .   .   ---Michael Stipe

Don't think so. I think this is the recording from Salty Dog Saloon, Buffalo in 1984. A show pretty filled with odd covers. Never heard of a video of it.
The song was also performed at the Marquee in London the same year, and possibly once or twice back in 81 or 82 as well.

No tickling the lead singer when he is reaching for a note that he can no longer hit, OK?" JMS, post-audience visit during The One I Love in Bergen, 2008

Thanks. Should go check my collection as to whether I have the bootlegs for these shows.
