wow, that was powerful!  i can't even imgaine cutting myself, esp in 1st grade.  it really looks like the kids made the video himself. did stipe have something to do w/ it, or just post it? edit: i later read on youtube that lots of people think it's faked.  maybe, but still moving.  kinda a mix of sinead oconner's "nothing compares to you" and dylan's "subteranean homesick blues," w/ the tears and text cards.

It's a very moving vid.  Poor kid, I glad he said he's not going away at the end.

That made me well up. People can be so cruel, and youth doesn't  always equate  to innocence.
What the fuck is wrong with the world?

ETA-- it doesn't matter to me if that boy is an actor or a victim. We all know bullying goes on, and that is a really moving piece of film.

Exactly because this happens every single day unfortunately.

I had reblogged Michael's post on tumblr and said that I also went through bullying too.  I never seemed to fit in anywhere.  I was one of those misfits too.  I still feel that way sometimes.

It was a coincidence he had posted that because a few days before Michael's post I had watched the show Extreme Makeover, Home Edition last Friday night.  They built a house for the family of the boy who killed himself. He was 11 years old.  It was maybe the saddest episode I've seen.  The boy was bullied because he liked to read and wanted to learn.  Cruel kids constantly picked on him and called him gay, etc.  The boy wrote a note to his family.  He couldn't take it anymore so he hung himself.  So so sad.

Here is the story.
