Listen here, including the three new songs.
"A Month of Sundays" instrumental portion dates back to an Accelerate demo interestingly enough.

I really like Hallelujah! It's powerful and different.
If the wind were colors and if the air could speak...

Thank you for the link !!!
A Month of Saturdays really has a pylonesque riff! I love its simplicity.
Hallelujah is AMAZING. It is a little eerie, dark and vocally divine. It really is "new stuff". Too bad we won't get any more of this real shiver down the spine stuff

It's the poison that it measures
Brings illuminating vision
It's the knowing with a wink
That we expect in Southern women
It's the wolf that knows which root to dig to save itself
It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea.

A month of saturdays- Reminds me of that B-side 'Chance' they did back in the early 90's. It was on some sound track or something. a funny song, not bad not good, just well......if you like chance you'll probably like that
We all go back to where we belong- All heard this one by now right?
Hallelujah- Holy shit. The way its such a pretty song and then all of a sudden gets so eerie...bad ass. I absolutely love it

We All Go Back to Where We Belong - Heard it a while ago but I still love it
Hallelujah -
It's all here where I keep it, it's all in the yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine...

As Hallelujah was getting going my thought process was, "Oh, this is going to be a perfect send off!"
That held up to the end of the song. Great finish, guys.

Was that the ebow I could hear?
Awesome vocals!

That someone just pulled me up and out of cartoon quicksand.

Now I feel a little sad that I won't get to hear any unheard songs .................for a while.

Exactly what I thought - except I like Chance much better.
Hallelujah - a great track, perhaps a glimpse of what the next album would have sounded like, if they'd ever recorded it. I wasn't sure where they would go after CIN. In the event, they went nowhere, but if they had carried on...... all conjecture now of course, which is a massive shame.

final straw < until the day is done < hallelujah
to really understand me, you must read between the lines.
these are just empty spaces that mean nothing.

Hmmm...
A Month of Saturdays - I reaallllly wanted to like this song - being one of the last two new R.E.M. songs I'd ever hear - except it was rubbish.... pure and simple.
We All Go Back - Obviously heard this a few times now. I've always liked it, but have had some reservations. However, after A Month of Saturdays - this song was such a relief to hear - pretty, melodic and simple.
Hallelujah - wow... I love it times ten! The best of the three new songs - although I can see why We All Go Back was the single. Shades of New Test Leper and Houston in the verses. The chorus is totally unexpected but powerful. I also love the strings in the bridge. Reminds me of the strings on Automatic - very organic and pretty. The ending is gorgeous - a perfect way to end a perfect career.
