My name is Matt, I'm 24 and I shall say my story with REM is interesting. I was 4 when Out of Time came out and my dad played the hell out of it. I fell in love with it as well, Losing My Religion is an all time great. So from the years 1991-2011 I have been an off and on fan. I never got around to listening to everything pre Out of Time. Well for the past 6 months I have spent a fortune on everything from Murmur to Green. I am so glad that I did that, I feel ashamed as a HUGE music lover that I didn't get around to this stuff much sooner. One day I'll be hooked on Murmur and the next day it will be something like Document, that's what I love about this band. The music was great. I will always look at Michael Stipe as a genius. I hope there will come a day where I can just shake his hand. I'm also deeply saddened that they have called it quits but I respect the decision, we still have the music.

So, your dad has done a good job ;-) !! There was argumenting who had listened to L.m.r. more often at that time!
