I remember it being one of the songs on a fanclub single. This is the first time I've seen a video of this performance. Thanks so much for posting the link.

No Berry, no Mills?
That's not R.E.M.
That's Buck & Stipe featuring Neil Young.

Mike plays a pretty great keyboard part on this performance, but maybe that doesn't count...?
As for Berry, this was pretty much one year after the reitrement announcement.

Seems like Scott is on keys, but I do hear Mills voice somewhere around 4.15...confusing

Actuallty Scott plays the piano, whereas Mike plays harmonium or something similar, just like he always plays organ when they otherwise perform this song.
It's not like they would have performed as R.E.M. without Mike...

Not as good as Hamburg/Vienna/Later with Jools 98 but pretty damn fantastic anyway. TY for posting.

It's was posted in this thread that was started several weeks ago about the Bridge School 25th Anniversary DVDs/CDs.
"We were listening to the UNC radio (station) there and they were playing an R.E.M. song. I like R.E.M. fine, but at the end of it, the DJ says, 'Ya that was R.E.M., the sound of the new South'. I looked at my roommate and we said, Gawd, if that's the sound of the new South, I preferred it when it was on the skids. That's how we got the name."

It's being released on a two CD set as well. Not sure if the policy is still in place but as far as I know, the trading of commercially available material here has always been prohibited.
