Michael made a Cameo last night.  Here you can see Michael standing close to Jimmy as he introduces Radiohead, AKA just Thom and Jonny.

Haha, awesome !!! This cameo reminded me of the first few lines from That Someone is You : "With the restraint of New Order covers, Young Marble Giants I sat quietly waiting for someone else to make the first move" ^_^

Radiohead's performance was excellent !

Thanks for sharing this stipeeyes :)

It's the octopus that crawled back to the sea.

It is kind of like that Kimo.  You're welcome.

Here at work I have Google mail and at the top of the screen, news streams from sites you choose to get news from.  One of the sites is music news from pitchfork.  So it just said at the top check out Radiohead on Fallon.  To my surprise there's Michael.  LOL!  Made my day.  I still have to watch the full video.  Michael likes going on his show.

Good video here but I don't know if Michael said anything before this. It does contain the "Hi, Michael Stipe" part unlike the NBC link but that's like what 3 seconds?

How I imagine this going down:

"Jimmy, it'd be funny if I just sat behind the desk holding the record at the intro to Radiohead"
"Yes, it would be"

Michael the music fan.  He wouldn't miss a Radiohead peformance!  I know a lot of us are going to miss Michael singing with a band like R.E.M. in future.

I don't think Radiohead were actually there, were they (sorry a bit off topic). I think it was a pre-record.

Oh.  I wouldn't know about these things or how tv broadcasts work.  I just assumed it was real time.

Jonny and Thom were there. Not all of Radiohead.  Usually Jimmy comes up on the stage and shakes the guests hands. All of the shows are pre-recorded.  I think it was recorded Friday for Monday.

We are going to miss him Lori.  To me if he can go on the show just to support Radiohead he could of went on the show with his own band to promote Collapse.

I heard from friends at Fallon that it was the opposite of what I thought. Jimmy had the idea.

Let's hope Michael continues to sing in some form as a soloist or collaboration in the future.    His voice held up really well on CIN. Don't think age is a barrier. Tony Bennett is in his 80's and is still going.

I hope so too.  Michael has a beautiful voice and should use it as much as he can.  Age shouldn't be a barrier.  Though Michael now has the habit of saying how old he is a lot in interviews.  I always imagined him being the type to just take aging in stride.
