I discovered this interview with director Peter Care on the making of the "Drive" music video on the Golden Age of Music Video web site.

It was interesting to read about how Care collaborated with the band and his vision for the video.
The Golden Age of Music Video blog is written by Stephen Pitalo, a music video historian currently writing a book of interviews with more than 50 music video directors who shot iconic clips during the genre's heyday (1976-1993).

It all feels slightly sad, like those long stretches of dead-mill brickshells encrusting the Amtrak line in Virginia, the overgrown ruins of old factories so plaintive that it just makes you want to move to Athens, Georgia and start a band.
