In order to make this year's ballot, an artist had to have released their first single in 1986 or earlier. The 27th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, April 14 of next year.
Many of the artists on the ballot have been eligible for induction for years, including Heart. A year ago, Heart's Nancy Wilson told ABC News Radio that she wasn't too bothered by the band's absence from the Hall. "It's not a crown we're waiting to wear, I mean, we feel like we've accomplished so many things," she said. "We usually don't make those lists, especially those lists that come out of the East Coast. We're West Coasters and so we've never been as quick to get on those lists that come from the [said w/exaggerated accent] 'East Cast intelligentsia.'"
There are currently 619 people in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame among 296 total inductees, including individuals and groups.
