listening to "live at the olympia" cd.
30 years captured on 2 discs of the band at their musical height. the freshness of all those old songs and recent (up to accelerate)
to never hear those songs live again is a shame.
REM will always be a better live band than a studio band.
4 or 3 very talented musicians.
31 years is a hell of a trip together but theres a sense of unfinished business here.
lets hope they've just hung up their guns just for awhile.
the last few years has sensed a wind down from "Olympia" to CIN.although CIN was a sense of a comeback.
if it is really the end of the road I dont even care if they sell their souls to the corporate devil himself and go for one last payday . That was no way to end an all encompassing trip, a thankyou and goodbye as we ride into the sunset on HQ.
.
even my mum asked me why REM had split as she seen it on the news! yes! it made headline news here.I mean current affair news not your music channel news, and she's 75 ffs!!!!
I've waited 4 days now before i'd post here. still cant think of much to say. .'cept REM will always be on a maddening loop.
Slainte REM !
REM's all encompassing trip.
